360-degree Feedback Multi-source feedback systems offer valuable benefit for individual managers since they provide difficult-to-obtain insight about how their skills are perceived by others. In addition, aggregate reports can reveal priority areas for development at various organizational levels and within specific work units. At the same time, managers who wish to use multi-source feedback appropriately and effectively often find themselves embroiled in thorny issues related to this powerful but easily misused tool. Chief among them is the use of 360-feedback for personnel review. We show how to integrate 360-feedback into a performance management program that avoids turning assessment into a "ratings game."
